The Go game has its roots in Asia and is thought to be the oldest board game, created approximately 4000 years ago.
It is calculated that there are more possible games than atoms in the observable universe, and for this reason it was thought that a computer can not defeat a professional player. Not until Google's DeepMind conquered the game 3 years ago, winning 50 games in a row from 50 professionals. This made this board game even more popular to the western world. I decided to catch the beauty in its simplicity, and yet, its complexity by modeling a traditional Asian Go scene. As a Go player myself, it was really fun creating it. Rendered it in couple of different engines - iray, vray and Marmoset Toolbag, which one do you prefer?
